30 Day Challenge: Walking 4 Miles Every Day – Day 21
Today was day 21 of walking 4 miles every day for 30 days.
This challenge has been a total pain to keep in on our weekend days.
During the work week I can sneak out for a 20 minute walk here and there, and then in the evenings I can get out and wrap up my walk if I need to.
On the weekends though, every day is different. The 4 miles for me is over an hour of walking, and so it isn’t something that I can just squeeze in real quick.
On Friday I had to work some, then pack for our trip to Bellingham, then we got in the car and had to drive 2 hours. We finally got to our destination. Then we had to go find dinner, order and eat. At about 8 PM my husband and son got in the pool and our vacation officially started. I chose that moment to get in my remaining steps.
Could I have let myself have a day off? Yes.
But I am proud I pushed through and got those 4 miles done. They get easier and easier every day.
Walking has been really helpful for my physical health and recovery from COVID. I was kind of dragging after I was sick in June and now I feel back to nearly 100%. (I saw a nutritionist, and did other helpful things also).
Mentally/emotionally I always feel better after a long walk, even when I felt just fine beforehand. I always have creative ideas come to mind while I am walking, I make phone calls to my favorite people, and I look at the beautiful flora and fauna.
Here are my miles day by day starting on July 10th:

Total: 92.1 miles in 21 days.
I haven’t ever walked this much on consecutive days in my entire life. I am looking forward to completing this 30 day challenge and continuing to incorporate long walks into my health and fitness habits.
I plan to start another 30 day challenge after I wrap up this one. I might do a sketchbook challenge. I have done art off and on for ages but I have never sketched much and a sketch a day for 30 days would certainly be challenging. I also thought about doing a blog post every day for 30 days.
If you have any other ideas for a 30 day challenge I should do, feel free to drop them in the comments.
