30 days of breaking my addiction to my phone over night.
The rules are – no phone on the bedside table over night. Then when I wake up in the morning, no scrolling. Instead I am going to spend the first 10-40 minutes of the day writing down goals, creating art or creative writing, exercising, or doing anything other than sitting in bed and scrolling social media, checking email, etc…
10 Jan – Day 1. – I plugged my phone in in the bathroom and then got in bed. It felt weird. I fell asleep quicker than I usually do.
Day 2. I woke up at 5:30AM for no reason. No phone by my side for scrolling. I went back to sleep until 6:30AM. When my alarm went off I got up, and I automatically started checking my email. No!! Stopped that and walked away from the phone so I could write my goals and get mentally going without being on my phone.
Overall, I think this is a really helpful and productive addition to my life habits and I am going to keep doing it. Even if I am not perfect.
