Book Review: Scars and Stripes
Scars and Stripes by Tim Kennedy
I give this book 5 stars. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I love books that make me want to cry
This book is full of anecdotes from Tim’s life. He was a douchey kid, a police officer, in the military as a number of things including a green barrette, a professional fighter, and a civilian going to the Middle East to get Americans and women and children to safety. His life is super interesting.
As a mom there were a number of stories he told that we’re just… hard to listen to. I can’t imagine sending my kid or my husband into a war situation. The description of people turning into pink mist is just…. gross.
But the book was fascinating and he now delivers classes to help people be more cause over their environments and keep themselves and others safe. I hope to one day take a class.
I consider myself to be anti-war. I don’t believe that any real solution ever comes from war. So this book was fascinating to me because I had not considered the mindset and viewpoint of a soldier. There are some really admirable traits that Tim and his buddies display. Real integrity.
Overall, it was a great read and I would recommend it to anyone. I did the audiobook and Tim reads it, which is extra fun.
